The road
The Riksveg (rv) 364, also called Hovinvegen, is a varied side road in the province Telemark of Norway.
Until the beginning of the nineties it was the ancient connection from Kongsberg/Notodden to Rjukan, at that time the rv 37. Today the road is approx. 63 km long and is situated between the crossings Ormemyr and Mæl. The course of the road offers nice curves and at some places wonderful views. Along the road you will pass by the villages Hovin, Austbygde and Atrå.
At the Hovinheia (Hovinhills) between Hovin and Austbygde you come up to the highest point Vatnali with 748 m above sea level.
From here further north the road drops down to the lake Tinnsjø at 190 m a.s. The road is as popular by motorcyclist as by bicyclist and of course also by car drivers because of less traffic. With slow speed you will enjoy it. More...
